Among the ruins of fallen cities and the roar of Mongol armies, I sought refuge in the eternal: knowledge. I charted the heavens from the Marāgha observatory, reforming astronomy and mathematics for the benefit of the believers. Yet numbers alone could not satisfy the soul. In Akhlāq-i Nāṣirī, I turned my pen toward ethics, teaching that the governance of the self precedes the governance of nations. Stand with me at the meeting point of star and soul, where every inquiry begins and ends with Allah.
