by Tursun Bey
Tarih-i Ebülfeth (History of the Father of Conquest) is an Ottoman Turkish chronicle authored by Tursun Bey, a bureaucrat in Mehmed al-Fatih's administration. Completed around 893 AH (1488 CE) in Istanbul, this work covers the period from 1444 to 1488, with particular emphasis on Mehmed al-Fatih's conquests—most notably, the historic fall of Constantinople in 1453. The chronicle exemplifies the ornate, high style characteristic of Ottoman historical writing.
